About MAYE Corps

pronounced /may·core/
a Metro Atlanta-based, youth-led team committed to implementing energy equity programs that center youth leadership, racial and social justice, and local collaboration

Youth Leadership

We are a youth-led, majority POC, and gender diverse organization that represents the emerging workforce.
Picture

Energy Equity

We believe that the burdens and benefits from energy production and consumption should be fairly distributed.
Picture

Racial & Social Justice

We center around racial and social justice as energy burden problems intersect both race and class.

Our Mission.

We believe in making our Metro-Atlanta community a more equitable place        through implementing energy efficiency programs, centering racial justice, and engaging youth leadership.

The Problem.

In Atlanta, low-income households pay an average of 10.2% of their income on energy-related costs, according to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). We believe that is is unjust. Learn more on our Energy Equity page.

Our Solution.

MAYE Corps implements youth-led retrofitting projects to address long-term energy needs of households through home repairs. Households become more energy efficient thereby reducing high energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions.
